Mission Opportunities

Below are the upcoming missions that we have scheduled.  Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to sign up.

Huntsville and North Alabama

The Place, Whitesburg Baptist Church on Pulaski Pike has many strategic opportunities for service. They include Preschool director, working with 3's,4's and 5 year old's, children 1st through 5th grades, youth , 6th - 12th grade, and adults in Sunday morning 11 a.m. Life Groups. The Benevolence Ministry of WBC is located at The Place, 3911 Pulaski Pike. Opportunities for service include sorting and hanging clothes, driving donated clothing from the Martha Fleming Ministry Center located at 7300 Whitesburg Dr to The Place and substituting in office administrative work. Each year Kids To Love provides Christmas presents to foster children who might not otherwise receive anything. You can help in a variety of ways.

The Alabama Sports Cycling Club was begun by friends of WHitesburg Baptist Church who love to ride. For more information on riding times and locations join our Face book : Alabama Sports Cycling Club

Lincoln Village Ministry's focus is to give the gift of hope. There are numerous ways you can serve in Lincoln Village throughout the year.

The  Foster Children's Alliance assists foster children and families with resources to provide the many needs of children that cannot be obtained other ways.

New Hope Children's Clinic is a school based clinic created to increase the access to medical care for the underserved student population of Southeasten Madison County.

The Salvation Army begins to schedule volunteers in September. People who enjoy helping others have a bright Christmas season like that experienced by their families should consider becoming a Salvation Army Holiday volunteer.

The Huntsville Assistance is a group of Christian congregations who desire to provide a ministry of assistance and referrals to needy individuals and families in Madison County, Alabama. The ministry focuses on the non homeless.

Manna House is a 501 (c) 3 public charity that primarily provides food assistance to those in need. You can help serve meals and also distribute clothes, toilitries, and other much needed items 3 days a week.

The Downtown Rescue Mission is committed to serving the homeless living throughout North Alabama and Southern Tennessee by providing Christ filled enriched and compassionate services to those in desperate need.

Tutors are need at Whitesburg School  P 8 on a regular basis. 

Reading Tutors: M-F 3:00 - 3:35 PM for grades 4-5 (starting September 8). 

Homework Tutors: M-F 7:15-7:50 AM for Middle School Students (starting September 8).

Academic and Encouraging Mentors for struggling Middle School Boys, M-F 8:00-8:50 AM (starting September 8).

The Boys and Girls Clubs of North Alabama seek to inspire and enable all young people especially those who need us most to realize their full potential as productive , and responsible , and caring citizens.

The United States

Our California Global Mission Team will be traveling to San Francisco September 12-19 to serve in the San Francisco Bay region with the SEND San Francisco Team. We will be involved in one-on-one evangelism, prayer walking and service projects.

The WBC High School Choir Tour will take place Spring Break , March 20-28, 2015. The Resolved Choir will minister in the great Chicago metropolitan region through music ministry as well as outreach projects. Contact Team leader Matt Sloma at matthew.sloma@wbccares.org to join the team. Team members must be a member of the Choir or an adult sponsor to join the mission.

Date: March 20-28, 2015.

November 2-6, 2015 WBC will send a team to serve with our partner, Life Point Church, in evangelistic outreach in the greater San Francisco , California region. This is in partnership, as well , with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention SEND San Francisco strategy.

Mexico and Canada
Ends of the Earth

May 30 to June 6, 2015 , WBC will send a team to partner with the International Mission Board, Brazil Baptist Convention , and our WBC Rio partner, Igreja Batista de Laranjeiras in ministry outreach in preparation for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. We will be serving with IMB representative Eric Reese who is the 2016 Olympic Ministry Coordinator as well as the IMB Mega City Strategist for Rio De Janeiro.

12 Team members needed who can serve in Creative Arts Outreach. Ministry Regions include Copacabana, Maracana, Barra, Deodoro and Ipanema.

Date: May 30-June 6, 2015

WBC will bring a team to Nazareth, Israel, July 10-20, 2015, to serve in Vacation Bible School at the Nazareth Baptist School. In addition, we will plan on touring Jerusalem,  Mount of Olives, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Caesarea, Nazareth, Jezreel Plain,  and Megiddo (Armageddon). This will be a time of friendship building with the children in VBS as well as the staff and leaders of the Nazareth Baptist School as well as visiting many of Christianity's most treasured sites.

Michael and Kathy (names changed for security purposes) will begin their ministry of church planting with the IMB in 2014. Please pray for their ministry in Asia as they begin to reach out in their new city in Asia with the Good News of Christ.

WBC will send a team to Port au Prince, Haiti August 30- September 6 , 2015 to serve with our partner, Andrew Palau. We will serve in creative arts outreach at the Fun in the Son Festival in schools, orphanages, marketplaces and other venues. The Fun in the Son Festival attracts approximately 30,000 to Port au Prince for a Christian concert, BMX moto cross demonstrations, a Family Fun Zone and the preaching of the Gospel by Andrew Palau.

August 5-10, 2016, WBC will travel to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We will engage in Olympic Pin trading to share the Good News of Christ with the International community from approximately 225 nations who will be coming for the Games.

Date: August 5-10, 2016

WBC will serve with our partner, Loughton Baptist Church and personal evangelistic outreach in greater metro London.
